The Sound of Panadol

Sound of Release

The track featured below has been proven to have therapeutic effects in diminishing the experience of pain. The track was composed and researched in collaboration with Goldsmith University.

As the track is mixed in immersive audio please wear headphones for the best effect. This mix was done by Future Phonic Studios.

The visuals of the video are based on aquatic shapes and figures - as earlier published research has shown this has a soothing effect on the human psyche.

The track was launched in the beautiful space of Outernet in London. Combined with guided box-breathing and completely surrounding visuals it provided a moment of release for those who wandered in.

Panadol Soundlogo

A strong sub-bass introduces the logo. The melody is carried by vocals in the higher register - that glide down to the second note. The 2 note melody sung in falseto - accompanied by the upwards movement in the bass it creates strong resolve and feeling of release. This is furthermore accented by subtle SFX to highlight the shine animation.

The Research

In Collaboration with Goldsmith University we have created the composer briefing for our track. Ensuring that it would be suitable for helping people diminish their experience of pain.

The effect of track was then also researched through EGG scanners and fysiological trackers. Showing that the track had a significant effect on reducing stress on the participants.
